H1N1 Update

The City is partnering with the Metropolitan Council to improve regional sanitary sewer facilities. West 84th Street will be closed from Stanley Road to Harrison Road to ensure the new facilities are constructed safely and emergency vehicle traffic is not affected. The detour route will be American Boulevard between Normandale Boulevard and France Avenue.

Flu shots will be available on Monday, November 10, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the 8500 Tower conference rooms.  The cost is $35 per person.  To sign-up please see instructions below.  The flu, an acute viral infection affecting the entire body with symptoms that include fever, chills, headache, sore throat, cough, muscle aches, and is responsible for the loss of about 69.3 million working days each year in the United States.
Stay healthy, get vaccinated! It is especially important that people at higher medical risk get vaccinated. Get the shot, not the flu!

To Make A Flu Shot Appointment
 
• Access your Flu Clinic Login Page(s) by the URL(s) provided by MVNA for your clinic(s) – Each flu clinic site scheduled for your organization has a separate URL.
• Click  “First Time Users Click Here to Register”
• Fill in all fields on the “Client Registration- Contact Information” page marked with a *.  When finished click “Next” (Lower right corner).
• The “Client Registration - Account Summary” page summarizes all information you have entered- review all information- make sure your email address is correct. If information is correct click “Submit registration” (Lower right corner).
• Click on desired flu shot time (white space is available). Seven people are scheduled per 15 minute time frame per nurse.
• Your appointment details are listed – review for accuracy – if the information is correct click “Make Appointment” (Lower right corner).
• The “Appointment Confirmation” shows the details of your flu shot appointment. Click “Finish” (Lower right corner).  You will receive an email confirmation of your appointment.
 
 
 
To Change an Existing Appointment
 
• Go to supplied URL for the clinic where you have your appointment scheduled.
• Enter your Username and Password, Click “Sign In”
• Click on the “My Appointment” tab
• Click “Cancel”
• If you want to make a new appointment at the same clinic, click “Make Appointment” tab and select the new time.
• If you want to make an appointment at a different clinic-(if your company has scheduled more than one clinic) - click “Sign Out”.
• Use the URL for the new clinic, sign on using the same username and password and make your appointment.

 

 

National Severe Weather Awareness week is April 21 - 25.  United Properties wants to insure that our tenants at Normandale Lake Office Park have an internal plan of action in the event severe weather does arise. On Thursday, April 24, the National Weather Service will be activating their tornado warning systems at 1:45 pm and 6:55 pm. This is a good time to evaluate your company's emergency procedures to ensure that you have a plan for all scenarios.

The National Weather Service recommends that occupants of an office building go to the basement or inner hallways of a lower floor when severe weather exists.  Stay away from windows and do not use the elevators.  The Emergency Procedures and Video are located on the website at www.normandale.com under Emergency Procedures.  You may also want to purchase a weather radio for after-hours use, which can be purchased at any Radio Shack.

The City of Bloomington has informed us that by Tuesday the construction occurring on the north side of 84th Street in front of the 8500 Tower will be completed.  Upon completion, they will convert this area to two-way traffic and begin construction on the south lanes.  The 8500 Tower south ramp entry/exit will also be re-opened at that time.  All phases of this project are scheduled to be completed by June 2008.

To access, please go to www.normandale.com and click on Links, then scroll down to the Transportation section.

Please remember that the extended parking is for short-term parking only.

Lost clothing, mobile phones and car keys often find their way to the property management office.  To reclaim lost belongings, please call 952-921-2050 with a description of the missing item.

Normandale Lake Office Park participate’s in a co-mingled recycling program where newspaper, office paper, plastic bottles, cardboard, aluminum and glass containers can conveniently be placed in the same recycling container at your desk.  Please make sure that desk containers are emptied into the central recycling container and any food or wet materials are disposed of in the trash container.  Both of these containers are emptied on a nightly basis.  Once reaching the recycler, it is sorted and sent on its way through the recycling process.  The Park recycles approximately 150 tons of material per year.  In addition to saving a lot of trees, reducing the amount of trash hauled to the landfill reduces overall trash costs.  Sending trash to the landfill is more expensive than recyclables hauling.     

About 98% of the materials leaving the Park should be recycled and we need your help to make this happen!  Attached is a list of items to be recycled.

Newsprint is recycled into newsprint, egg cartons, gift boxes insulation and animal bedding.

Office Paper is recycled into new office paper, tissue paper, paper towels and the outer layer of a cereal box.

Plastic pop bottles are recycled into carpeting, scrub pads, fillers for jackets and many more household and industrial uses.

Recycling one aluminum can saves the amount of energy needed to light a 100-watt bulb for twenty hours.

Every 3 months, Americans throw away enough aluminum to rebuild the entire US commercial air fleet.

VEAP (Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People) needs your help in giving our neighborhood kids in need the opportunity to start the school year with the basic necessities of good education.  VEAP’s Back to School Program provides every child with a bag of basic school supplies plus a backpack or calculator, and a $15 gift certificate which they can buy socks, underwear or another clothing item.  You can make a real difference in a child’s education by donating some of the items listed on the Wish List below or a $15 gift certificate to Herberger’s, K-Mart, Marshall’s, TJ Maxx, Target or Wal-Mart. 

 

Normandale Lake Office Park will have donation drop boxes out beginning Tuesday, July 31 through Tuesday, August 21 for your contributions.  VEAP cannot accept used items.

The 10th annual Normandale Lake Office Park fun run/walk was held on June 7.  All 150 runners and walkers received lunch, a medal and a pedometer for their participation followed by music from Metro Jam. 

First, second and third place finishers were honored with trophies and prizes in the categories of 5K Run Men, 5K Run Women and 3K Walk.

It was first observed on May 30th, 1868, but was not declared a Federal Holiday until 1971. In 1966, President Lyndon Johnson named Waterloo, New York as the official birthplace of Memorial Day.

The parking stalls marked “Visitor Parking” are for visitors of NLOP only.  The Visitor Parking spaces should not be utilized by tenants or their employees.

Areas marked “Delivery Parking” are only for the use of vehicles making drop-offs or pick-ups 15-30 minutes in duration.

Violators of the Visitor Parking and Delivery Parking areas are subject to being towed at the vehicle owner’s expense.

Vehicles parked overnight without authorization from the management office are subject to being towed at the vehicle owner’s expense.

 

For those who smoke, please make use of the shelters located at the following locations:

The enforcement of no parking in the fire lane is important to the safety and security of the building.  Tenants may drop off and pick-up passengers, however, leaving your vehicle unattended may result in ticketing by either building security or the Bloomington Police Department.  Delivery area parking is provided at each property.  All delivery vehicles, whether hand or cart deliveries, need to park in the loading dock area or the delivery areas, located adjacent to the loading dock entrance.  Additionally, all delivery personnel should use the loading dock and freight elevators to preserve the fine finishes of NLOP’s buildings.

Motorcycle parking is available next to the bicycle racks at each building:

 

8000 Tower – Level A
8300 Tower – Level A
8400 Tower – Level B
8500 Tower – Level A

Each corporate tenant is responsible for setting their own policies regarding evacuations in the event of a weather watch or warning.  Building management will advise tenants to evacuate only if a tornado is sighted in the vicinity of the building.  United Properties recommends that Tenants have a weather radio on hand for updated information and after-hours use.

For the courtesy of other tenants, please remember to call 952-921-2050 if you must cancel a reserved conference room.  We also ask that hot food be placed on the acrylic pads provided in each room and that equipment is returned, chairs are pushed in and if garbage is in need of removal during or after use, please call the management office at 952-921-2050.

With Summer here, please remember that in-line skates are not allowed anywhere on the premises – inside or out.  Bicycle racks are available on Level B of the 8400 ramp and Level A of the other three ramps.  For those who wish to know more about secured areas for bicycles, please contact United Properties management office at 952-921-2222.
